Four Rivers BioEnergy Inc - Introduction
Four Rivers BioEnergy Inc. takes its name from the area in Kentucky, U.S., selected for our first integrated BioEnergy facility. It will produce Bioethanol and Biodiesel from U.S. grown crops for the highly incentivised U.S. market, supporting farmers and contributing to national fuel security.
U.S. demand for our products is expected to increase markedly; the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 set a modified Renewable Fuels Standard to require 9 billion gallons of renewable fuel in 2008 and to progressively increase to a 36 billion gallon annual requirement by 2022. Of the latter total, 21 billion gallons is required to be obtained from cellulosic ethanol and other advanced biofuels, technologies that 4Rivers intends to position itself to accommodate, once they become commercially available.

4Rivers’ first site is located at Calvert City on the Tennessee River close by and connected to the Ohio, Mississippi and Cumberland rivers which form the backbone of the U.S. inland waterway network.
The facility, with an initial nameplate capacity of 130 million gallons of Bioethanol and 35 million gallons of Biodiesel per year, is expected to be completed in 2010.
Unlike first mover plants typically situated in the Corn Belt close by local supply but isolated from their market, 4Rivers will have the significant advantage of cost effective bulk delivery of corn and soy oil feedstock and export of BioEthanol, BioDiesel and their co-products, by water.
The management team has an enviable track record of delivery of projects and funding packages directly comparable to the 4Rivers Project.
4Rivers is a quoted U.S. public company (OTCBB: FRBE). |
